SNOWMACHINING
There are many popular trails nearby for
snowmachining. Authorities notify the public when snow depths are
sufficient enough to protect underlying vegetation and terrain from
snowmachine use.
Caribou Hills are the Kenai Peninsula's most
popular snowmachining area. The Caribou Hills Cabin Hoppers maintain
trails that are accessible from the Sterling Highway.
The Caribou Hills is an ideal location for winter

The
Kenai National Wildlife Refuge maintains designated areas
where snowmachine use is authorized. Their most popular trails
include:
- Russian Lakes Trail
- Resurrection Pass Trail

Captain Cook State Recreation Area offers a
variety of snowmachining opportunities as well:
- Gray Cliffs subdivision - north of the park
toward Point Possession
- Stormy Lake - when frozen

SNOWMACHINE RACES AND EVENTS
Many snowmachine races
and events take place throughout the winter months, usually
sponsored by winter activity clubs such as the Caribou Hills Cabin
