Winter in Kenai is simply spectacular. The landscape
changes dramatically as the snow begins to cover everything in
sight. Kenai offers milder winters than most regions in Alaska
with highs in the 20s and 30s and lows in the teens and single
digits during the months of November - March. However in January
temperatures can frequently drop below zero. The snowfall in Kenai
can range from 4 feet to 15 feet, however this doesn't slow Alaskans
down! For many, cross-country skiing and snow machining are not
just hobbies, they are a way of life. Experience the splendor
and quietness of the Kenai winter by trekking across a frozen
lake, ice fishing, or simply by curling up in a blanket on the
deck of a lodge and sitting in awe of the northern lights. |
